NOTE: Since the pattern was written, I have taught a class and discovered some technical error in the pattern, however, any seasoned crocheter may be able to figure out how to proceed as this pattern repeat is very simple.

Bruges Lace crochet is a method of creating a “tape” with eyelets on either side, that connect to each other to create fabric stability. Simply stated, one segment is repeated over and the interlocking of the eyelets occurs when your tape turns.

While I used a fingering weight yarn, you may use any weight, and I presume that if you are using the appropriate size hook for your yarn, the yardage should remain the same, but will have to monitor the size.

My gauge measurement is based on one segment and was just short of an inch in width by one dc and the height just short by an eighth of an inch, therefore, I chose treble crochet as the gauge stitch. If you’re like me, you’ll forego the gauge, as it is not critical.
