Knitted in the round and featuring 2 octopuses, this is an easy pattern if you already know how to knit stranded colorwork and this pattern assumes that you do know how to knit stranded colorwork.
If you have not knitted stranded colorwork before then this is an experienced level pattern.

Your gauge will be different over stranded colorwork than it is over stockinette. I really recommend taking the time to do a small swatch of the pattern before you start on the beanie.

The octopus pattern of 36 rows cannot be adjusted for height, and so the final height of the beanie is determined by the number of rows in the crown. The band is very short in order that the beanie not be too tall.

Fingering or sock weight yarn.
