My baby and I often get bundled up and head out in the wintery weather, but when I put him in the carrier and tried to wrap my coat around us both, it always ended up flapping around in the wind. I wasn’t willing to spend a fortune on a new winter coat that could accommodate the both of us, so I knit up this panel to keep us cozy.

This works great with a double breasted jacket because there are already buttons, and button holes in place to attach the panel to. If your coat is not double breasted, you could just sew buttons onto any jacket for the time being, and take them off when you don’t need them anymore. If you don’t knit, you could always repurpose an old sweater by cutting a panel to size and making button holes.
