My boyfriend asked me whether I could make a baby gift for his colleague. The good girlfriend I am of course told him yes, but little did I know he then asked me to make a DIP8 rattle toy.. (A DIP8 is like a casing for a chip with 8 legs to connect it to a board (that’s as far as I have understood it =’) )) After a short optimistic search for a pattern, which of course does not exist (although some spiders came close), I decided to make it up myself.
And there you have it, my first ever pattern, a DIP8 amigurumi.

Whether you want a name or another random fitting text on top is totally up to you. There is no instruction on how to embroider a name on top, but please do tell me if this is actually wanted. I put a little rattle ball inside because it was a baby gift, this of course is also totally optional. I do think it might be a bit too pillowy when it’s not a baby gift. I think it would be nice to put some sort of reinforcement inside the body and the legs such as cardboard and metal wires. This needs to be experimented with =)

I offer it for free, because let’s be honest, it’s one of those projects you make as a joke or funny gift. Also it’s my very first ever published pattern, so I don’t feel comfortable asking money for it.
