Knit with lace weight yarn doubled (700 yds) or fingering weight yarn (350 yds) - perfect for that precious single skein of hand-dyed yarn that’s been languishing in your stash.

The lace border on this shawl reminds me of the broad petals of dogwood blossoms, which grow on my favourite tree. Flowering dogwoods are a sure sign that spring has arrived in the midwestern US, where I grew up. Until the last chills of winter pass away, wrap yourself in this simple but lovely shawl which shows off the hand-dyed yarn wonderfully and adds a little colour to your wardrobe.

It knits up quickly with doubled laceweight yarn on larger-than-usual needles. You could also use a single strand of 4 ply yarn.
