Earth Day Face Pad

Difficulty: Beginner - Easy
Hook: I-9 (5.5 mm)
Yarn: worsted weight (#4) cotton
Size: 3’ circles

We just passed Earth Day on the calendar, so I wanted to share the way I use crochet to conserve. I wash my face every morning and night because pores. And zits. As a part of my regimen, I use a facial toner after my face wash. (If you don’t use toner, you should definitely consider it, but I digress.)

To apply the toner, I used to use the cotton pads you can get pretty cheaply from the grocery store. I think Kroger sells 100 for $.99. But I was creating quite a bit of trash just by washing my face twice a day.

I also happened to have a lot of leftover cotton yarn from making baby elf hats and dish cloths during craft show season. I decided to use my scraps to create my own reusable facial pads, and I LOVE how they turned out.

I use these for my toner, but they would also work really well as eye or face make-up removers. If you sell your crochet items, why not bundle these up in sets of 5, wrap them with a bow, and put them out as a stocking stuffer or quick gift item!
