Elbe is part of the Mix & Match – Rivers collection. The other patterns in the collection are Tiber and Seine. All these shawls can be knitted on their own, just as they are. But if you have the entire collection, you can also mix and match by combining the body and border sections from the other patterns in the collection.

With the 3 patterns of the Mix & Match – Rivers collection, you get 9 different shawls! All the shawls have a textured body and a simple lace border, and they are interchangeable. You can mix any of the 3 textured body sections with any of the 3 lace borders.

Elbe
Elbe charms with a clean and contemporary look. The body of this asymmetric triangle shawl is worked in a rib check pattern, a fun combination of knits and purls. The delicate lace border has a beautiful cabled eyelet pattern. Together they create an intriguing surface texture, yet the shawl is easy and relaxing to knit.

YARN
Two skeins of Eden Cottage Yarns Bowland 4ply (100% BFL Wool; 400 m / 437 yds per 100 g.) Shown in colour Robin Egg.

Or approximately 628 m / 687 yds of similar fingering weight yarn.

NEEDLES
Size 4 mm / US 6 circular needle or size to obtain pattern gauge.

Shawl is worked flat, but I recommend using 80 – 100 cm / 32 – 40 inch circular needles to accommodate the growing number of stitches.
