Elina Cardigan was designed with coziness in mind. It’s a feel-good garment that can be styled up for an evening out, or styled down for a TV-knitting kind of night. It is worked seamlessly from the top-down, with integrated ribbing bands on each side of the opening. It has a large shawl collar and a joyful allover bobble texture. It can be made long or short, with worsted weight yarn, or with a fuzzy strand of mohair paired with a regular DK weight yarn. You can also wear it with a belt, or not. It is available in 11 sizes from 32” to 66”, and can be worn with 0 to 6” of positive ease.

Yarn and yardage
I suggest using DK to worsted weight yarn, or sport to DK and a strand of mohair held together. As long as you get gauge, you can use heavier yarn to make a thick fabric, or lighter yarn that is knit more loosely to make a lighter fabric. You may need to use different needle size to achieve the correct gauge.

The pattern includes basic guidelines to use eyelets instead of bobbles.

Intermediate: reading a chart, provisional cast-on, working in the round (sleeves), simple bobbles (instructions provided), basic stitches and basic increases.

Le cardigan Elina a été créé pour offrir un maximum de confort. C’est un vêtement dans lequel on se sent bien, qui peut être porté avec des vêtements chics pour une occasion spéciale, ou avec des vêtements décontractés pour une soirée tricot-télé. Il est tricoté sans couture, de haut en bas, avec des nopes qui ajoutent une touche joyeuse sur le corps et sur les manches. Les bandes côtelées le long de l’ouverture sont tricotées en même temps que le corps, créant une ouverture fluide qui peut être portée tel quel ou avec une ceinture. Le cardigan peut être tricoté en version courte ou longue, avec un fil grosseur moyen (worsted), ou avec un fil plus léger jumelé à un fil de mohair. Le modèle est disponible en 11 tailles (de 82 à 167 cm au buste), et devrait être porté avec une aisance positive entre 0 et 15 cm.

Laine et métrage
Je recommande l’utilisation d’un fil de grosseur DK à worsted (fin à moyen), ou sport à DK (léger à fin) combiné à un fil de mohair. Vous pouvez utiliser un fil plus gros pour obtenir un tricot épais, ou un fil plus fin tricoté lâchement afin de créer un tissu léger. Peu importe le fil choisi, assurez-vous d’obtenir l’échantillon. Au besoin, ajustez la taille des aiguilles.
