Originally knit for Madelinetosh in Work Sock, I have re-knit the sample in Artfil Mericana DK, a similar yarn that might be less confusing to use as a reference point when substituting yarns. I heard from a number of knitters who found the info surrounding the Work Sock to be difficult to interpret as it is listed as a sport weight, but many (including myself) feel it is more of a DK weight. Hope this helps to sort out any confusion!

This simple sleeveless crew neck top with center back vent is the perfect staple for anytime of year. Knit in stockinette stitch, in our base yarn Work Sock, from the bottom up with minimal seaming at the shoulders, this is the perfect project to accompany you on the go.

YARN USED | Artfil Mericana DK 3 (3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5) skeins
or approx 500 (530, 610, 730, 860, 950, 1060, 1140) m/

Shown in the colour Clair de Lune

NEEDLES USED | US 6 (4mm) 16” and US 6 (4mm) 32” (or longer for larger sizes) circular needle

SUPPLIES NEEDED | 2 stitch marker | 1 darning needle | waste yarn or stitch holders

PATTERN NOTES | Fissile is knit from the bottom hem up, working back and forth to create the back vent opening, and then is joined and worked in the round to the armholes. The piece is then split again, and the front and back are worked flat to the shoulders. Shoulders are seamed using tails left from the front, and the neckband is picked up and knit in the round. Vent opening edges and armhole edges are worked in as you knit.
