Going Fishing, A Hat done in beautiful and classic Cables to create “Fish” swimming all around the brim. A finishing touch of buttons are added to make the fish eyes.

The pattern is worked in short rows, but requires no sewing up. Even the buttons are put on during the actual crochet work and are not sewn on after. However, the buttons are optional as they are for decorative purposes only.

Hat is designed with ribbing on the top portion of the hat and has a rolled edge brim for a finished bottom edge. You will learn a new stitch with this pattern. It incorporates my half single crochet in the ribbing and rolled edge.

Pattern makes either a toddler/child or an adults size.

Adults hat has 6 fish around, will take 6 buttons and measures 21 1/2” Around X 9” High. The sizing for the adults is meant to be Unisex and should fit both the average Man or Woman.

The child/toddler Size has 5 buttons and 5 fish swimming around and measures 18” Around X 7” High.

Written in American Standard terms and knowledge of front and back post crochet is required and assumed. This is not a beginner pattern due to the cabling design.

If there is enough interest, I am considering writing a pattern for a matching scarf. Please leave me a comment if you would like to see a matching scarf.
