Grandpa Socks
Grandpa Socks are classic warm socks worked top down in the round with Novita 7 Brothers yarn. The leg and top of the foot feature a simple 4 k, 2 p texture with a small cable, the heel is a German short row heel and the toe is finished with a Kitchener stitch.
Materials:
- Novita 7 Brothers, 76 % wool, 20 % polyamide, 4 % viscose (100 g/200 m)
- 3.5 mm dpns or circular
- stitch markers, including BOR marker
- tapestry needle for Kitchener stitch and weaving in ends
Yarn usage:
1 ball for size 40-42, 2 balls for size 42-45
Gauge:
18 sts and 28 rnds = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette in the round after blocking
Sizes:
fits EU 40-45, foot length adjustable while knitting
Construction:
- worked top down in the round
- leg and instep in 4 k, 2 p texture with C4L cable
- German short row heel
- foot: instep in pattern, sole in stockinette
- toe shaped with decreases and grafted using Kitchener stitch
