Scarves are utility pieces in my wardrobe. They are good both when it’s cold and when it’s just nippy, or when the autumn weather is tempting you to enjoy the last little warmth, and you don’t want to get out the thick layers, but still needs a little warming touch.

Many of my scarves look just the way they are – utilitarian. I felt the need for something more, something pretty, but cool, something feminine, but not overly so.

The solution was this scarf with a big, bold blade of a leaf (lamina means leaf blade) and wavy, garter stitch tips. The pattern is perfect for showing off the beauty of variegated yarn.
