Little Fairy Wings Shawlette
This pattern was originally published as Close Knit’s contribution to the 2026 Rose City Yarn Crawl, March 5-8, 2026 in Portland, Oregon. This pattern is also available for download as part of the 2026 Pattern Collection: Mythical Creatures.
Inspired by the 2026 Rose City Yarn Crawl theme, Mythical Creatures, the petite cable stitch looks like the wings of a little fairy. The shawl’s wavy I-cord edge also adds a fairy wing essence to the design. The shawlette is knit from bottom up/center out which can be worn as a neck wrap or scarf. The magical qualities of Isager Silk Mohair with the drape of Isager Merilin wool/ linen make this a soft enjoyable accessory to wear.
Yarn
Two yarns carried together: Isager Merilin (80% wool/20% linen); 227 yards/50 grams (#61 light pink) 2 balls (fingering) PLUS Isager Silk Mohair (75% Mohair/25% silk) 232 yds, (#62 light pink) 2 balls (lace). The light green sample uses Merilin color #46 and Mohair Silk color #67. The teal sample is Merilin #16 with Silk Mohair #16.
Needles/Hooks
US #7/4.5mm 16 inch/40cm or 24 inch/60 cm to start then transferring project to longer US 7 as shawl gets larger, or size to obtain gauge. Pointy tips are recommended as the knit three together through back loop (K3tog TBL) will be easier.
