My musical inspiration for these socks was the song “Love you till Tuesday” by David Bowie. The title sounds like there will be a new love on Wednesday and many to follow afterwards, so my socks feature lots of hearts for all the loves yet to come. The hearts are randomly placed all over the socks.

Sizes: Women’s M and L to fit leg circumference 18.75 (22) cm 7.25 (8.5)”. Foot length and leg length are adjustable.

The pattern comes with 5 different heart motifs between 7 and 14 stitches wide and between 7 and 21 rows high. The idea is to place them randomly on a Stockinette Stitch background. Just use one motif, for example the Heart to Heart outline as an eye-catching stand-alone feature or place different motifs all over the socks – whatever you like best. If desired, the motifs can even be continued onto the heel flap and the toe. Each of the motifs is included as a chart and also as written instructions.

If you don’t want to place the heart motifs randomly, there are placement suggestions given at the end of the pattern for both sizes. Leg length results in 20.25 cm 8” and foot length in 22.25 (25.5) cm 8.75 (10)” when knit as given in these suggestions. But please note: These placement suggestions are charted only. There are only written instructions for each individual motif used, but there aren’t any line by line instructions for the placement suggestions.

Material: 1 skein of fingering weight yarn with a yardage of approximately 400 m (440 yds) per 100 g.
Notions: 2 stitch markers, cable needle, darning needle.
