Are they mermaid tails or whale flukes? You decide!

Knit them all in one colour – or do the tail in a different colour if you want! You’ll have a minimum of ends to weave in due to the clever construction. The inner ribbed cuff helps them fit snugly on little feet. There are directions for 5 sizes (approx. newborn to 18 months) and these make perfect new baby, shower, birthday, or holiday gifts.

The textured stitch pattern on the booties is great for breaking up variegated yarns, so have some fun with that if you want to!

Finished Sizes & Measurements:

Materials:
--Fingering weight/sock yarn: approx. 10-20g (20-25% of this in contrast colour if you knit a different coloured tail)
--US #1 | 2.25 mm needles or size needed to obtain gauge
--Tapestry needle
--Stitch markers
--Stitch holders

Gauge:
Gauge is not critical, but it will affect the finished size of the booties. You are aiming for a fairly dense, rather than a loose, knitted fabric.
