Mezzanotte means Midnight in Italian, and both this design and the name were inspired by the gorgeous gradient skein from Wandering Wool. This color is aptly called “Midnight on the Water”, and as soon as I saw it I knew it needed a design that was dramatic to match the color, but also flexible to allow for variations between knitters and skeins.

This is worked top down, and the ratio of stockinette to lace can be adjusted. In addition, you can repeat the lace chart as many times as desired before ending with a simple yet effective beaded bind off. The beads are optional, but they help control any curling in addition to adding a terrific sparkle.

Please note that as written this uses a special 150g gradient skein, not the standard 100g put up of North Country Sock. You will also need approximately 300 seed beads, size 6/0.
