The fingering-weight yarn and lacework, combined with a generous fit and bell sleeves, yield a garment that drapes and flows with the luxurious femininity of a lace shawl and yet provides the structure and fuss-free wearability of a simple cardigan.

While the lace pattern is a simple repeat, the pattern includes extensive charting for shaping (sleeves, armholes, shoulders, hood). The body is straight.

A provisional CO is used to establish the picot edge at the bottom of the body and sleeves. The band on the front edge is picked up, picots created, and then sewn down.

The top of the hood is grafted.
