If you were ever wondering what to knit with those precious and lonely skeins of lace weight in your stash, here is the answer!

Murano is a series of seven islands linked by bridges in the Venetian Lagoon in Italy. It is famous off glass making. Murano shawl just like the place from which it takes its name consists of seven parts. Those sections are built of unique lace structures and stripes flowing like a tides. Dive into your stash and choose two of your precious skeins of lace weight yarn to knit your Murano shawl. Admire the play between texture and color just like the color plays in beautiful Venetian glass.

This pattern has written and charted instructions.

Finished measurements: The sample is 98.5” / 250 cm wingspan and 22”/ 56 cm deep.

Materials:
• Yarn: 1 skein of MC and 1 skein of CC Approx. 630 yards/580 meters of MC and 390 yards/360 meters of CC 100% Merino single ply or other lace weight yarn that knits up to the gauge.
The sample was knit using Merino Lace by The Uncommon Thread in Sorbet (MC) and Prairie by Madelinetosh in Briar (CC).

• Needles and other notions: US 2½ (3.0 mm) circular needles, stitch markers- removable marker is recommended, needle to weave in ends.

Gauge: 20 Stitches per 4 inches/ 10 cm after blocking with US 6 (3.0 mm) needles in Garter Stitch. Gauge is not crucial for this project but may affect finished measurements and yardage.

Skills required: Knitting and purling, increases and decreases, yarn overs, short rows. This pattern consists lace and short rows together.
