Everyone needs some cosy mittens to keep their fingers warm on cold winter days, and what better way to do it than with some mittens that are double layered for extra warmth?! The Noughts and Crosses Mittens are double knit, meaning they not only have two layers: they are also fully reversible! So you can choose your yarn colours to give you two different looks.

The pattern is one size (adult) but with a note explaining where to adjust the length for longer or shorter hands. It comes with a colour coded chart as well as pattern notes, and is further supported by video tutorials on my YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKT7CUtyFTcrCDaJVv4RaBw) in which I demonstrate some of the techniques required to knit these double sided mittens. They are knitted in the round on double pointed needles.

If you like the design but don’t fancy double knitting your mittens, the pattern can easily be followed in intarsia.

For this pattern you will require:
• Yarn: 2 colours of DK weight yarn, around 75g (140m) of each (I used 2 x 50g balls in each colour of DROPS Lima Navy Blue and Off White)
• Needles: set of 3.5mm / US 4 double pointed needles
• Stitch holder
• Wool needle
