The doll-sized Karen’s Bonnet will be fit an 18” American Girl Doll or equivalent.

Karen’s Bonnet is worked back and forth in smocking st from the forehead to the back. The number of sts increases so it fits snuggly around the dolls head. The back is worked on double pointed needles and the crown is shaped with decreases. At the end a casing is worked for a tie around the neck edge.

Materials: Fingering weight yarn

Suggested yarn: 22 g of Tynn Merinoull from Sandnes Garn (50 g = 175 m/191 yards)

Suggested needles: 3 mm (US size 2.5) needles, 3 mm double pointed needles

Gauge: 38 sts x 38 rows in smocking st on 3 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4 inches, 28 sts x 38 rows in stockinette st on 3 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4 inches
