Updated Version: Expression Fiber Arts Restore DK yarn (219 yds/200 m per 3.5 oz/100 g skein)

The updated sample is shown in colors: A) Artistry, B) Elevate, C) Evolve, D) Clever, E) Enhance, and F) Ingenuity.

You’ll need one skein each of these six colors, or any six colors of your choice.

Original Version: Expression Fiber Arts Resilient Sock yarn (400 yds/366 m per 4 oz/113 g skein)

The original sample is shown in color Pear Resilient Sock yarn, and you’ll need three skeins.

If those yarns or colors aren’t available, any from this category or this category will work.

HOOKS:

Updated Scarf Version: US size 7 (4.5 mm), or size needed to obtain gauge

Original Shawl Version: US size E (3.5 mm), or size needed to obtain gauge

SKILL LEVEL:

Beginner - This pattern is for those who are just beginning or have crocheted a project or two. Stitches/skills include chains, single crochet, and working into the back loop only.

  • The updated scarf version shown here used approximately 1,006 yds/920 m total: Color A: 140 yds/128 m, Color B: 208 yds/190 m, Color C: 204 yds/187 m, Color D: 206 yds/188 m, Color E: 125 yds/114 m, and Color F: 123 yds/113 m.
  • The stitch count in the updated version stays at 63 stitches throughout. The stitch count in the original version stays at 83 stitches throughout.
  • When changing colors, gently carry the yarn up the side.
