Lightweight, airy, and perfect for summer, this lovely linen shawl adds a touch of class to any outfit. Wear it around your shoulders as a traditional shawl or snuggle into it as a scarf, it’s the perfect accessory. And the linen yarn will only get softer with use, until it is buttery soft and delightful to touch. Take it to the beach, take it to the park, or dress up and take it out to dinner, this shawl will happily accompany you through the warmer months!

This is a top down, knitted, triangular shawl with yarn over increases at both sides, and the centre. Its main body is stockinette which incorporates simple openwork “ladders”, and is finished with short row shaping and a 4 stitch i cord bind off, the “snakes”. The pattern calls for 4 ply and bouclé linen yarn for added texture and interest, but the pattern works equally well just using 4 ply, either in the same, or a contrasting, colour.

The pattern comes in 2 sizes: mini/child size and adult size. For the adult size you will require around:
100g (450m) of 4 ply linen yarn in heavy lace weight (1 skein)
160g (320m) of bouclé linen yarn in DK weight (2 skeins)
