In an effort to keep our patterns available to as many people as possible, but still honour and value the time and expense it takes to design and tech edit a pattern, we are now offering a “Choose Your Price” option. For those who are able, the undiscounted price reflects the “true cost” of the pattern. For those with a restricted income, there are three options:

SDW20 gives you a 20% discount,
SDW40 gives you a 40% discount, and
SDW50 gives you a 50% discount.

As always, thank you for your support. You help us continue to create high-quality patterns for you to enjoy!

The Tale: Anya’s sister Staci had made a gorgeous stole for her, as a congratulations present for her when she’d gotten her invitation letter from the wizarding school. Anya was now knitting a pair of socks in the same lace pattern as the stole, as a thank you for the cherished gift. She let her mind wander as she knit, thinking of her adored big sister, confidante, and friend. (Read part II of Staci and Anya’s Tale in the sock pattern!)

The Design:
This toe-up pattern uses German short rows to create a seamless, snug-fitting toe and heel without picking up stitches! German short rows are possibly the easiest to learn and to work, because there are no wrap and turn stitches, and no holes when you’re done! The lace work on the top of the foot continues around the leg after working the heel, and transitions into a spiral ribbing and an optional picot bind-off to top it all off. The length of the foot and the leg are customized to fit as you go. A short-row heel like the one used in this pattern is a relatively snug fit. If you prefer a roomier heel, you can substitute your favorite heel as you come to that part of the pattern. These snug and cozy but not-too-warm socks are sure to become some of your go-to faves!
