Charts only, no row by row description of the charts available.

Difficulty: Medium to advanced. Charted RS rows only, but WS rows are worked as they appear, with some small extra action here and there, so the ability to read your knitting will be essential.

Yarn: Farbmasche Merino Glitter 366 (one ply) 100 g/366 m. If substituting, use a fingering weight yarn with good stitch definition.

Construction: The shawl is worked from the neck down, first worked back and forth and then joined to work in the round. Two different versions of the “medallion” theme are offered, choose the one you like the best.

Size: 18 inches (45 cm) long in the back and 27 inches (68.5 cm) neck opening. Length is adjustable to a certain degree, but mostly in the last chart. You may repeat a couple of rows here and there for a slightly larger neck opening, directions are included in the pattern. Likewise, a heavier weight and/or larger needles may be used. For both solutions you will need more yarn! Or end sooner than shown. The last few rows may be repeated until you run out of yarn (or tire of the pattern).

Needles: Size US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needle or the size you need to get a fabric you like. Cable needle. Spare needle for the cast on and I-cord tab may be useful but is not strictly necessary.

Other notions: Stitch markers. Darning needle. Crochet hook the same size as your needle for the bind off (or use a knitted bind off if you don’t like crochet)

Print in colour! Or mark the repeat boxes and other coloured stitches using a marker pen or the like.
