Either use bulky yarn (10mm) or two strands of fingering (3-4mm) at the same time.

If you want this cowl to be a skirt as well
Check if it fits around your waist if you want this to be a skirt as well. If it doesn’t, add 2 chains at the time and keep doing that until it fits.

If it became a little too wide for a skirt, use a belt or ribbon to keep it at your waist.
