When the weather begins to cool and warmer clothing becomes a necessity, The Backtop Mitts are the perfect addition to any cold weather wardrobe. This simple fingerless mitts pattern features a beginner-friendly. These mitts are identical—no right or left—since both mitts have an identical cable on each side. With the thumb gusset worked using basic increasing, you will have a beautiful pair of mitts in no time and be ready to face the cool temperatures. These mitts are a one size fits most, however, if making these for extra-large or extra-small hands consider changing the needle size a bit to compensate.

The gauge was taken unblocked, because I don’t think this project requires blocking. Since this pattern is knit in the round, be sure to swatch in the round. Gauge isn’t terribly important, however, if you are a really loose knitter, go down a needle size.
