This is a sampler sweater for my 2-day workshop, inspired by the Cowichan Sweaters of the Coast Salish people from Vancouver Island. The sampler includes pockets with liners, several 2-color motifs (which the students can choose themselves or work from a fixed chart), shoulders shaped with short rows, a traditional Salish shoulder join, a three part collar joined with short rows, sleeves with short row shaped caps, and putting in a zipper or a button band.

I also talk about yarn dominance, stranding 2 colors (right side and wrong side) in the right hand, the left hand, or both hands, weaving in each of those styles (right side and wrong side), and designing.

It’s a full 2 days!
