INSPIRATION
Born and raised in the south eastern European part of Russia, I spent my summers on the banks of Volga river. Much has happened since then, but Volga’s might and beauty remain unchanged. This design is dedicated to the river of my childhood and my happy memories of this special place of the world.

Volga is a shawl/cowl hybrid, there is no cast on or bind off and no long rows. Simple increases, decreases and basic lace shape this fluid piece. Similarly to the river it’s named after, this is a large shawl. Gauge is not crucial but will affect the finished size. Whatever needle size you use, make sure you get a good drape but not a floppy fabric.
