The flowing waves in the pattern are taken from the “Streaming Through The Mountains Cowl” pattern by Michelle Willis here on Ravelry. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/streaming-through...

I knitted the cowl and wanted matching mitts, so came up with these.
I wanted a close knit so used a 2.5mm needle, but you could use a larger size, this would of course result in a larger finished mitt.
I don’t like sewing up so these are knitted in the round with a gusseted thumb for a nice fit.
I used wool from my stash, which I don’t believe is available now, but any nice 4 ply or sock yarn would work well.
I had 100g and the cowl used 42g.
Each mitt uses roughly 18g so you could knit them longer if you prefer, just add in more rows before the thumb gusset.
