Create this cute gift jar for a baby shower, as a gift for a new arrival, or for your own baby’s room. Crochet the topper with size 10 thread and a size 7 hook, fill a standard canning jar with cotton balls, candy, colorful buttons, etc, place the topper on the jar, and you have a decorative and useful item to give or keep.

Alphabet charts are given for both “It’s A Boy”, and “It’s a Girl.”

Materials and Supplies Needed:

• Size 10 crochet thread – MC (Main Color - white, AC (Accent Color) - blue for boy or pink for girl, BC (Bear Color) - light brown
• Size 7 (1.65mm) crochet hook
• Large eyed blunt tapestry needle or bodkin
• Small, sharp scissors
• 3mm black beads for eyes
• Embroidery floss, black
• ¼“-wide ribbon, about 18 inches in length, blue for boy or pink for girl
• Small-mouth mason jar – half pint, pin, or quart size
• Filler of choice – e.g. cotton balls, candy, colorful buttons, etc.
