This ca. 1894 reversible edging was “not illustrated” in Weldon’s publication, so it could’ve been ignored and lost to history if it weren’t investigated. Fortunately, it was error-free and Ravelry-worthy. There are 20 pattern rows and 17 stitches to cast on. The 10 wrong-side rows are very simple.
Blocked to gauge, this edging is 2.75 inches at its widest but gauge is up to you.

Skills needed: long-tail cast-on, slip, knit, purl, YO, YO 3 times, k2tog, SK2P and bind off in knit stitch.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.

34 yards of Aunt Lydia’s Classic 10 thread will make 10 inches of this edging at gauge.
