Mittens call for DK weight Superwash Yarn on US Size 4 needles;
Hats call for Cascade 220 Worsted on US Size 7 needles BUT
both can be made with the same yarns as long as they are knit on different size needles. The gauge for the mittens is much tighter to provide better warmth for hands.

Enjoy these patterns based on the houses in the village of Čičmany, Slovakia. The houses are dark wood painted, usually by women, in the beautiful motifs found on these items.
