Notes

After many, many false starts, managed to cast on in the round. I converted the pattern on the fly until somewhere after the first cable when I realized I was knitting the legwarmer inside out. Had I written the pattern out, I would have noticed the problem.

Tried again, but this time flat and it’s working much better.

Update: 10/208/2012

Oh boy. So I had started on the final ribbing when I realized there was absolutely no way that I wanted to seam these suckers. Not with this dual stranded yarn.

I started over and made a slew of changes. I’d write them down, but this is a purchased pattern. :/ First off, I rewrote the pattern so it would be worked in the round and right side out, lol. I switched the original cable to a 20 stitch horseshoe cable. It didn’t turn out as loose as I wanted, probably due to the thick yarn. Probably should have stuck with the pattern cable. Anyway, once I started the final ribbing, I added some holes in case I needed to add an i-cord (so far, don’t need them).

The yarn is okay. It’s easy to deal with. Dang yarn curls too much at the bottom of the legwarmer, though. At some point I realized that I didn’t want a striping yarn. (=_=) Too late. I’ll make the legwarmers again with different yarn.

Again, I have the most difficult time starting patterns by this lady. I must have cast on at least twelve times before I finally finished one. This is not a difficult pattern. Lawls.

I’ve taken off a few days before completing the second and started other projects because I don’t like doing the same pattern in a row. (^=^)

Update 10/29/2012:

Started second legwarmer last night.

Argh. So much hassle. I told myself I would only cast on once…until I realized I was knitting with two Size 9 DPNs and two Size 10.5 DPNs.

Cast on again with Size 9 DPNs…until I realized I was supposed to be using Size 10.5 DPNs. (=_=)

Third time I have it right and things have been progressing without incident.

Update 10/30/2012

Finished!

Completed knitting the second legwarmer last night. Finished weaving in ends this morning.

I didn’t have enough yarn to do the full 6” of ribbing, but I did manage about 5” or 28 rows. The whole thing is 90 rows (I kept track).

There’s a lot of needles listed, but I cast on with Size 13, knit the pattern with Size 10 1/2, and finished the final ribbing with Size 9.

Update 12/06/2018

Finally made some ties to hold up the legwarmers as opposed to the rubber bands I’d been using.

Made an icord 48” with Red Heart in Earth & Sky.
