Almost out of yarn. The project is looking good. In retrospect, I would have tried to pick a cake that had the neutrals section towards an end.

Just finished adding buttons. This project is officially finished.

I love how this yarn looks in the pattern. I had planned to make a capelet in a different pattern with it, but the crocodile stitch really shows off the color transitions. Wasn’t super in love with the colorway when I started, but I really like it now.

The yarn made this project a little stiff. Maybe going up a hook size or two would help with drape. Also should have added a CH in the middle of the scales to help keep the tips pointy.

Not planning to add fringe. Didn’t intend to from the beginning.

Almost ran out of yarn. Switched to 10 DCs per scale on the last row to make it work (also curves the top of the piece a bit). I then worked 3 SC in each space across the back of the work. For the last row I slip stitched into each stitch to cover up the SCs from the row below.

I placed a button on either end, with one side having a button on the right side of work and the other on the wrong side. This way I can overlap the ends in the back to keep it in place. Also works by overlapping the ends in the front to use it more like a shawl, but it is a little small this way.

Size-wise, I think it’s a little too large for me ( I’m 5’) using one cake, so I think it’s better to either use less yarn or get two cakes.
