I improvised most of this pattern. I looked at a lot of toddler earflap hat patterns, then adjusted for using thicker yarn (I used yarn leftover from my nephew’s shark hat).

Then I just made up all the other pieces… ears, eyes, and a stuffed tail that buttons to the back of the hat and can detach if Mom wants to button it to his pants instead.

It turned out wonderful! Maybe I’ll write up some of the pieces I created if others want to try their hands at it. :)
