This cowl grew from a slight dissatisfaction from my previous colorwork cowl.I loved the look and size but dislike the fact that that WS folded over awkwardly showing the world the equivalent of the underwear of my pretty cowl.

So I “came up” with the idea {though I’m sure I’m not the first“ of having a “two-sided” and / or reversible cowl. I.e. Something that had colorwork that because of the construction never showed the insides.

The basic idea was too create a one very tall cowl the first half in the cross/ plus pattern and the second in the lines. I then folded it in half with the wrong sides together, stitched it together and started wearing the sucker everywhere.

It’s obviously not perfect.
for one thing it’s straight acrylic since I was working on a whim and didn’t want to waste good yarn on a potentially bad idea. I actaully attempted to wear this skiing in Colorado and it immediately started growing icicles {bad water absorption} and it was completely useless while skiing. But I looked cute in the lodge :)

Because I’m also not very familiar with colorwork I didn’t quite match up my seams correctly, making it very obvious where each round stopped and started.

My goal is that now that I know this is a legitimate concept, learn how to write a pattern and make it available for other folks who want a reversible cowl with super simple colorwork.
