Notes
  • Provisional cast on 90 sts
  • Worked brim for about 10 cm
  • While knitting the provisional and live stitches together increased 10 sts evenly.
  • Worked twined body pattern until crown then started decreases.
  • K8, k2tog around hat to setup decrease points.
  • Knit one plain row in between decreases. At about 30 sts left on brim k2tog for 2 rows.
  • Then closed hat and sewed in ends.

When working decreases I continued to knit in pattern. This meant on some rows I knit the next stitch with the same strand of yarn from the previous stitch. I would double twist the yarn as to twine it. This allowed me to preserve the colour pattern in the hat.

Only used 5mm as I could not find my 16” interchangeable circular cable. And I had a 5mm fixed 16” circ on hand. Worked a nice fabric but I wish I did the folded brim on a smaller needle.

Worked up the folded hem as I’m sort of on this folded hem kick. THEY JUST LOOK SO NICE OK?!
