Notes

Cast on 45 stitches with both colors together.

Added wave motif at top and bottom instead of using border in this pattern. I also added a couple of stitches of border on the sides. I moved the top lobster down considerably because I wanted the potholder to be square - it would have been too high otherwise - plus I think it’s more balanced this way. I would add 2-3 rows of solid in between the waves and the lobsters, top and bottom, to make this more square if I were to make it again.

The bottom photograph is the original chart I made. The other chart has the lobsters moved closer together to make the potholder more square. The second chart has the background colored in to remind me in what color I was knitting the foreground. I kept messing it up without that.

See my other potholders for tips on double-knitting, including how to hold the yarns to be able to access both at once.

Used the cast-off described in my Pistol Potholder for Paul project. It matches the cast-on well.
