I designed these socks to showcase this gorgeous yarn made especially by Destination Yarns for the 2016 Athens Area Fiber Faire. Uptown Athens, Ohio is paved with hundreds of thousands of the historic Athens Blocks, made locally from 1893-1917 Just up the road from Athens is the town of Nelsonville with its own unique and charming brick pattern, the Starbrick (1880-1937). Both of these wonderful bricks are icons to Athens County and southeastern Ohio in general. These, and so many others, are enduring reminders of our strong Appalachian industrial heritage.

This sock was designed to be knit toe up in the round. (I worked mine 2aat on Magic Loop!) Please comment if you want to be notified when the FREE pattern is done!
