Adequately-Caffeinated Bear

A few of my favourite things…coffee, yarn, walking and rainbows!

To make the bears a little bigger, I used 2 strands of 8ply yarn and a 6mm hook.

Eyes
I crocheted the eyes using 8ply black acrylic yarn and 3.5mm hook.
8hdc in a magic ring.
I added some stitches with white yarn for highlights.

I Googled ‘Do Care Bears have tails?’;
“The bears all have short tails and a red heart on their right hips.”

So I added tails and a love heart to each bear.

Tail
6sc in a magic ring.
Rnd 1: Increase in each stitch around. (12)
Rnd 2: (1sc, inc) around. (18)
Rnds 3 & 4: 1sc in each st. (18)
Rnd 5: Decrease around, finish off leaving long tail for sewing.
Lightly stuff tail and sew to body.

The small hearts I made with the heart pattern for the feet using a 3.5mm hook and 1 strand of 8ply Yarn in a dark red.

I have no patterns for the appliques…I made them up as I went along.
