Notes

Chain 28 for 26 stitches per row. UK trebles.
15 rows for size small. This fits into one skein of Cowgirlblues yarn.

17 cm across (rows) x 18.5 cm down (no. of rows). Small. My size. 26 treble stitches. 15 rows.
If 28 stitches and 15 rows, then: 18.75 cm x 18.75 cm.

When sewing up, put the starting chain on the top of the hand and the rows running lengthways ie parallel to the fingers.
Sew the first 7 stitches then skip stitches to form the thumb hole. Then sew the bottom 5/6 stitches closed.

I think in future a bigger but smaller pair of gloves might be possible within the one-ball target by reducing the number of stitches (by 3 or 4?) and increasing the number of rows (17 or 18?). The result should be wider, to allow a bigger hand, but shorter - not so far over the fingers or so high up the wrist.

Also, it would be really good to use a bigger hook on the chain row to allow more stretch, and a closer match between last row and first row when joining.

I was going to give these to Rose-Anne but will now use them for teacher present slightly_smiling_face
