During the 2018 Sheep & Wool Festival aka “Rhinebeck “, we had a trunk show with Tre Liz at The Knitting Garage LYS. I was specifically taken by the “yarn blankets” which is sock yarn loosely machine knitted with two strands and then dyed. This way your two socks will be guaranteed to look alike. Such a great idea. And I really liked these blue and green colors.
I started on the socks during the evening session of my two at the time toe up socks class.
I did wonder if the crinkles in the yarn from unraveling would bother me, but they don’t. I quite like this instead of two balls of yarn.
The socks have the look and feel of terry cloth. I wonder, it should smooth out after washing/ blocking.

A small problem with the yarn blanket:
12.5. If working two at a time Socks with this yarn blanket, it gets a bit tricky when working the heel as the heel is worked one by one , but you will still have to pull two strands of yarn. So when working on the first heel, be careful not to tangle the other strand of yarn for the second heel. Luckily it’s not very much yarn one uses per heel .
One way around this would be to knit the heels with a different yarn in a nice contrasting color. That would solve the problem and add a fun element.

12.23. Technically done, but waiting to do the final stitches in the final sock knitting class in January for demonstration purposes on the stretchy bind off and weaving in that last stitch to make the bind off jogless.
