Notes

This is a sample project for weaving variegated yarns on hexagon pin looms.

What you need:

  • Any two skeins of your color choice of Noro Kureyon
  • Original TURTLE hexagon pin loom

How to:

  • Weave hexagons … as long as the yarn will last (and marvel over the pretty colors that are developing in your hexagons!).
  • Two skeins will yield about 35 hexagons (that’s what I got in my project)
  • On a design felt, randomly lay out your hexagons: 4 in a row, then 8 rows up, where you let the rows “travel” to one side, see photos.
  • I recommend that you sew hexagons to rows, then rows to rows, to get the most even fabric.
  • Weave in ends.
  • Wet finish the table runner by soaking it in cold water for at least 30 min. I used Eucalan, but Soak or Orvus Paste will work, too.
  • Lay flat to dry.

I had three hexagons leftover that I turned into a little trivet, see photo.

Enjoy!
