This all started when I got a Web’s order and found I had ordered 2 cones of fuchsia when I only wanted one. So a nice satisfying wider warp for 2 shawls were planned.

The first shawl is now complete ( and second has just started) and didn’t look like much on the loom but sure came into its own once off and then wet finished.

It was a slow weave as I had issues with abrasion on the right hand edge and so had to baby it along. Second one is being woven with a temple and doing much better.

My husband saw the project on the loom and said “it looks sort of blah” and I told him not everyone wants to be the peacock in the room. Sometimes elegantly understated is preferred. The colour alone make a statement.

The second shawl is the peacock as you will see in time.
