probably going to make in a small or medium- she’s been doing a lot of weight training and her arms have bulked up

Went with the medium, and so far I’m happy with that. Alternated skeins every round to prevent pooling and accidental color blocking. Body of the sweater took two whole skeins, and as I doubt the sleeves will each take more than one complete skein I’m feeling pretty good about my yardage. Somehow I managed to get the pattern gauge exactly when swatched/blocked (that never happens!), but I did have to go down to a size five needle instead of the recommended seven. I thought I’d be miserable with so much stockinette, but it’s actually gone by pretty quickly.

Just half a sleeve left before this is done. Not to count my chickens before they’re hatched, but it looks like my sister’s Christmas gift will be done on time this year!!!!

I actually finished this with time to spare! I’m pretty pleased with myself.

I am glad I went with the medium, it was a perfect fit for Lauren. Even though I made the sweater a wee bit longer, I still used much less yarn than I was anticipating. Of the four skeins I purchased, only two were completely used up and I have a decent chunk of the third left over. I’m not complaining, it is gorgeous yarn and I think it will pair well with another skein of tosh merino light I have in my stash for a shawl. If I were to make this again, I think I would skip all the make one left/rights as I finished the short rows, they cause the sides to flair out weirdly and I think I would prefer they didn’t do that.
Lauren loved the sweater, the color was a perfect choice for her and I am really happy with how it fit her. I was a little skeptical of the neckline while knitting but once complete everything turned out beautifully.
