i skipped the 1st strip and instead i did the co, set-up & 1st 2 rnds all in red. so the stripe color pattern:
A: white
B: red

doing this will gives me a red center and i’ll end with a red stripe. then i plan on adding a 24 rnd lace band in neon blue - the lace pattern will be a 24 st repeat pattern of cat prints (which i modified from the “scamper” pattern i knit last year) to finish out the “cat in the hat” theme

for the border i doubled up the yarn and have 10-20 yds left over from the 3rd skein. i used garter st adding 2 “lace paw prints” repeated 27 times over 8 rnd. BO on the 12th rnd of the border.

BO - k2 k2tb, k1 the stretchiness of this BO perfectly match the stretchiness of the garter st.
