So glad to be testing for Dani Sunshine once again. Love her designs! This beanie is unisex and so easy/quick to knit.

The size of this hat is controlled only by the yarn, needles and length of the beanie. The number of cast-on stitches is the same for all sizes. The ribbing makes it super stretchy and versatile. I like a snug fitting band, so I started with smaller needles and transitioned to the size recommended in the pattern. To fit my big head, I did the following:

Cast on 100 sts with size 5 US needles. 2 x 2 rib for 1 inch. I used a regular, long tail cast-on, but tightly.

Switch to size 6 US needles. Rib for another 2 inches (= 3” total).

Switch to size 7 US needles. Rib for another 3 inches (= 6” total).

Start Crown Setup, etc. using same size 7 US needles.

Note that the crown section added about 2.5” of height to the beanie using my weight yarn. My beanie measures 8.5” high from cast on edge. Height is all up to the knitter.
