Notes

I used leftover yarn from this project. Going for a 1960s look with this outfit. I’m revisiting my teenage years!

You can crochet the headband in an hour or two:

Leave a 12” long tail and Ch 9. SC in 2nd chain from hook and in each chain to end. Ch1, turn.

SC in each stitch across (8 SC total per row). Ch1, turn.

Repeat above row for as long as you’d like the headband.

I used this same technique for crocheting neck chokers. See my Ravelry project page here.

For my headband, I made a loop on each end by chaining the yarn tails. Then I threaded a 24” long i-cord through the loops. This allows me to put on the headband without messing up my hair.

I knitted a 24” long, 2-st i-cord using this method. I-cord could have been a few inches shorter, but my hair covers up the tie. Alternatively, you could use elastic instead of the i-cord.
