This took forever. I made the purple silk (flat silk) Hebrew letters first, my DD’s name in Hebrew (Ganya Shoshannah). My lace teacher did both shin’s for me. That took about 2 years! Then I started on the background lace (cross twist twist twist ground, with two gimps crossing to form little rings at the borders)….simple enough, but took forever. I had to use gauze to temporarily make a background for her Bat Mitzvah, and I finally got it all put together properly last summer.
THe background is black because I ran out of purple thread, and I’m glad I did, the black looks so nice with the shimmery purple glitter thread running through it and the purple gimp!
