30th march 2013: Love the look of this and I would love to knit it for my baby brothers new baby due in May. I thought it would look good in the nursery as they have a multicoloured scheme :-).

I purchased a 13.5 tog polyester double duvet today from Tescos for 9 quid, the wool I have from other projects should work I hope! Can’t wait to start tomorrow!

31st march 2013: Cast on 50 stitches using three strands, so far so good! I’m thinking as I have various amounts of each colour I will just divide them into three and knit each till I run out, so I will have random size stripes. If I have any left over at the end I was thinking of knitting stocking stitch circles of colour and sewing them on as patches? Maybe, maybe not, we’ll see.

4th April: Finished and I love it! My piece of knitting measured about 46 inches, when I cast off I picked up the corresponding cast on stitch, which made a nice neat seam and avoided me having to do mattress stitch which I hate! I had bought a new duvet to stuff it with which came all packed tightly in plastic wrapping, when I opened the packaging I pushed the duvet staright into my Puff still keeping it in the spiral shape as you can see in the photo, I found this gave my puff a nice neat shape, which felt comfortable to sit on.

I found it impossible to close up the gap completely in the top and bottom so I just knitted a circular patch in white and sewed it over the gap and finished it off with a round of blanket stitch just to neaten it up.

The finished size is: Height: 11inches Width: 67inches
